Cranes and Pulleys

Hello again guys! Here are all of my crane and pulley Projects;

/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

My first Project was " The Groovy Crane Arm." (They sure do say "Groovy" a lot. Do they?)

Me using the crane arm.

What I'm doing in the picture above is turning the chopstick to gather up the hemp cord which pulls up the small bucket. Cool huh?

/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

My next project was "Turning Crane."

Really cool part of the turning crane.

There is another part of the crane, but I forgot to take a picture.( Silly me! :-P )
It was a cup with a magnet attached to some hemp cord. What I did was I put the hemp cord over the tube above and pulled the cord, that lifted up the cup. It's kind of like those cranes at scrap yards. You can also turn the tube to move the cup.

/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

My next project was "Compound Pulley."

The compound pulley is my favorite
experiment. It's so cool!

When the cord gets pulled, the bobbins (aka: The pulleys. ) lift the cup up like a pulley.

/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

And my Last Project was " Fetch a Pail of Grooviness."

I really like this project. It resembles getting
water from a well.

This project is kind of like the groovy crane arm, except it involves the groovy box. When you turn the crank, it brings up the pail. But if I turn it the other way, it brings it down.

Stemist Kit on Cranes

Hello Again Guys! Today I got a new Stemist Kit on Cranes. It's Really cool... But Short.

/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

                    Here's an Unboxing video.
Please one up my Video. :-)

My Third Experiment

Hello and welcome to another post on my Stemist kit on Matter. The third Experiment I did is called "Polar Ice Fishing."

/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

Basically, there's a Mini Toy inside a piece of ice, and you have to use a Fishing Rod (A piece of String attached to a Chopstick.) and some salt to melt the Ice and to stick the fishing rod to the ice.

/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

What the Salt does is that it melts the ice like Ice melt. If you sprinkle salt on a piece of string and count to 500 by tens, it might stick to the ice and you can lift it up! Cool huh?

/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\
I lifted it. YAY!
It took a few trys, But it worked!

Here are some Pictures.

/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

I hope you enjoyed this Post and please like and comment on what your favorite part of this post was and how you liked it. See you Later!!! :-) <3 (-:

Cool Earth Stuff

Hi Again! Today I'm going to be talking about some Earth work I did in Hands-On. It's really cool! They are called "Parts of a Volcano and the Inside of the Earth."

/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\
This all about Volcano Parts

/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

This is all about the Crust of the Earth.

/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

I just wanted to make a small Post. Please leave a like and comment.

My Second Experiment

Hello, me again! Today I'm going to be talking about my second experiment called "Ice Breaker."

/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

The main part of this experiment is pulling a wire through ice. I know it sounds impossible, but it's not. If you want to do this experiment you'll need...
- One Large Cylinder Balloon
- Ice Weights ( You'll need two Balloons and a wire to make Ice Weights.)
- Colorless Cup
- Small tray (I used the Groovy Box Because It said so in the Book, So if you Don't have a Box, use a Tray.)
- Duct Tape
- Chopsticks
- Two Balloons ( One Blue, One Orange.)
- Copper Wire
- Parchment Paper
- Piece of Cardboard

/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

1. Fill the Cylinder Balloon with tap water from the sink, knot the Balloon. (WARNING: Water Explosions may Occur, hold the balloon with your fore finger and thumb when handling the water.)

2. Fill the 2 Balloons with tap water.  (Make sure the balloons are the right size with the large cup, they should barely go below the rim, then knot the balloons.) Once the 2 Balloons are frozen in the freezer, tie the copper wire to the Balloons and now you have made the Ice Weights!

3. Place the Parchment Paper on to the Tray. Tape the Parchment Paper to the Tray with the Duct Tape.

4. Get the Chopsticks and the Piece of Cardboard and Duct Tape. Tape the Chopsticks on the Piece of Cardboard 1 cm. apart with the Duct Tape. The Chopsticks should be 10 cm. off the Cardboard

5. Take the Platform and put it on a table. The Chopsticks should be hanging off the table.

6. Take the Tray and put it on the floor right under the Chopsticks.

7. Get the Cylinder balloon and the Ruler, Measure 5 cm. of ice with the ruler.

8. Cut the Ice with a Sharp Knife. (Let an Adult do the Cutting.) Take the Piece of Balloon off the Piece of Ice.

9. Place the Ice on the Chopsticks.

10. Place some Books on the opposite side of the Platform. Then place the Ice Weights on the Ice.

11. Take Observations on the Ice every 5 min. You can watch the wire get pulled through the Ice.

12. Put your Ice in the sink when your done the experiment.
