Bacteria Experiment #1

Hey you guys! Welcome to another blog post. Today I'll be talking about this bacteria experiment me, Aidan and Mom are doing. We're growing our own bacteria colony's! Pretty cool, huh? :-)

/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

What we did first is Mom had to prepare 10 petri dishes by filling them up with melted agar. Then, she had to quickly put lids on the dishes and let them sit for one hour to solidify ( I had to guard the dishes from our cat). Next, we put 2 dishes outside on the porch with their lids off for one hour to gather bacteria, and put the lids back, next we flipped them upside down until later. The other 8 were for other later experiments.

The bottle that's in the picture
is agar
The petri dishes on the back porch.

When we were ready for the experiment, we put the dishes in the attic for 4-7 days. When we brought the dishes out, bacteria colony's were in the dishes!! AAWWEESSOOMMEE!!!!!!!!

(Four days in the Attic.)
Dish 2
(Four days in the attic.)

Dish 2
(One week in the attic.)

Next, we had to add cleaning chemicals on sensitivity squares. The cleaning chemicals we chose were, hand soap, dishwashing soap, rubbing alcohol, and kaboom foamtastic. Then we put the sensitivity squares in dish 2, dish 1 is our control. Finally, we put the dishes back in the attic for a few more days.

The letters D, H, A and K stand for
dishwashing soap, hand soap,
alcohol and kaboom foamtastic.
These are the squares soaking in the
 chemicals.

Hey again guys! Today I have another post, this time for my first Tinker Lab on Electricity.(Don't worry, I won't have so many puns. ^ _ ^) It's so different to the "Groovy Lab in a Box."

/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

The first thing I did was do this project called "Paper Circuits." I had to make lanterns and a electricity base then when I put the one of the lanterns on it the lantern lights up!

This is the base. It makes the lanterns
light up
This is one of the lanterns
I have made.

The bottom of the lantern is
what makes it light up.
My pyramid lantern.
My lantern that's
supposed to be
Chinese New Year
themed. :D
And Finally my flower lantern.

The battery brings the electricity through the black wire through the resister and the copper tape to the short side of the light bulb to make it light up. To make it's way back to the battery, it goes through the long side of the light bulb, through the copper tape on the base and through the red wire into the battery. It keeps doing that over and over again to form a circuit.

/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

This is just one part of my tinker lab, so I hope you enjoyed this post. Please like and comment on how much you liked the post. Bbbbbbbbyyyyyyyeeeeeee!!!!!!!!

Unboxing video on Electricity

Ola guys! Today I have a brand new unboxing video on electricity. It's "Shockingly" amazing! ( Rim shot!) Oh, computer joke! What is that fly doing in my computer? I guess my screen saver is a little "buggy!" (RIM  SHOT!)  :-P I got that from between the lions.

/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

Please one up my unboxing video. :-)

Tinker Lab

Hello everybody and welcome to another post. Today I'm going to be talking about something new on my blog called "Tinker Lab."  This is going to be a really short post.

/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

I'm still going to be talking about stemist things on my blog, but there is only one more "Groovy lab in a Box" coming this month, and then "Tinker Lab" is going to be coming once a month. This is still a STEM blog and you know what that means...

Science
Technology
Engineering
Math

/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

I just wanted to tell you guys about tinker lab. Thank you so much for reading this post. I bet tinker lab is going to be fun! Gooooooood bbbbbbbyyyyyyeeeeee! (-: <3

Plants, plants, and more plants

Hello again! Today one of my new stemist kits is all about plants. There's no video because Aidan cursed on my unboxing video!! |:-( But here's the plant projects;
                                                     ^
                                                Mad face
/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

My first project was called "The Beanstalk."

This adzuki bean is looking RADICLE! Eh? Get it, radicle?
 Oh, never mind.

I have to grow a bean. Even though, it's awesome to see a bean grow. The bean in the picture above is in the radicle stage. Cool beans! Get it? If you don't get it. I'm "beanboozled."

/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

My next project was called " Pipetting ." (Yeah, I know it's a weird name.)

This stuff that's growing is wheat grass.

I also have to grow some wheat grass. How I have to water the wheat grass is by pipetting water into the petri dish. It's so cool. I also have a joke. What do you call a plant that kills things? Answer: An agrassin. (Grass/Assasin, Get it?)

/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

My next project was called "Raised Beds."

You can barely see my
bean in the picture above.
Now, there are bunching
onion seeds in the top bed.
These radish seeds are so
cute! Right now I have
cute little seedlings.

You might be wondering "there is no soil, "but I don't need any soil. Water crystals and water beads are much better than soil. What my favorite part about the raised beds is when you put water in the first bed, it drips into the other beds on a piece of cord. The last bed gathers up the rest of the water.

/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

My last project was called " Space Barn."

This is the space barn. Those sprouts are alfalfa seed sprouts.

The space barn is made out of sponges. In my Stemist kit, the instructions said " DON'T GET THEM WET! " Because they looked kind of like pieces of paper, but if they get wet, they swell into sponges.
Cool huh? Aidan calls them "Instant Sponges." The wet sponges help the plants Grow! :-)I <3 plants!

/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

Thank you so much for reading my post, if you liked it please one up and comment. See you later! <3

Cranes and Pulleys

Hello again guys! Here are all of my crane and pulley Projects;

/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

My first Project was " The Groovy Crane Arm." (They sure do say "Groovy" a lot. Do they?)

Me using the crane arm.

What I'm doing in the picture above is turning the chopstick to gather up the hemp cord which pulls up the small bucket. Cool huh?

/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

My next project was "Turning Crane."

Really cool part of the turning crane.

There is another part of the crane, but I forgot to take a picture.( Silly me! :-P )
It was a cup with a magnet attached to some hemp cord. What I did was I put the hemp cord over the tube above and pulled the cord, that lifted up the cup. It's kind of like those cranes at scrap yards. You can also turn the tube to move the cup.

/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

My next project was "Compound Pulley."

The compound pulley is my favorite
experiment. It's so cool!

When the cord gets pulled, the bobbins (aka: The pulleys. ) lift the cup up like a pulley.

/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

And my Last Project was " Fetch a Pail of Grooviness."

I really like this project. It resembles getting
water from a well.

This project is kind of like the groovy crane arm, except it involves the groovy box. When you turn the crank, it brings up the pail. But if I turn it the other way, it brings it down.

/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

I hope you enjoyed this post and please like and Please tell me how you liked it in the comments.
Good bye! :-) <3
